This arrived in the post today. A nice surprise, indeed. The last few donations have been platelets (see below).
The donation takes about 70 mins. The blood goes into a centrifuge and the platelets separate out from the blood and into the bag.
You can give up to every two weeks, I believe, but I give every four weeks or so. It depends on who you are, blood type, health etc.
